I was running my tractor for about 4 hrs last night, faily heavy brush hoging. I shut it down to take a break. When I went to start it..... nothing. The oil light and battery light were on and it would not turn over, not even a click. The battery system is fine and fully fuctional. The light never came on while running it. could this be from the oil being to dirty? Oil filter clogged?? Any ideas? I was able to start it after a while and it ran fine. After I shut it down again, same thing.

Thanks Mark,

It turned out to be the fuel shut off valve that was sticking. I will be sure to get on the maintenance schedule.

You could have knocked a wire loose to the starter interlock system from the high grass. Check the wiring to the clutch pedal,shifter,and starter.Maybe you ought to change the oil and filter and air and fuel filters,and clean the radiator fins just as preventive maintenance,this doesn't affect the starting but it helps the tractor live alot longer.
