Should be positive ground system. No guarantee of course that it is, but it should be positive ground. Is it still running the 6V generator? Hook it up positive ground and crank the engine. The ammeter needle should deflect to the discharge (-) side of the ammeter. It it moves to the positive (charge side), then for some reason it is negative ground and you have to change the cables around on the battery.

Tried to reply to the Delco starter Q you sent,
your PC server has me tagged 'probable spam',
returned delivery of my non-spam(?) opinion. Has
your server gotten the banana guy confused with
the velvet guy? Positive ground sounded good to me, but then, that could be probable spam...

Hmmm, that's strange about the email. Saw a local ad for a MH 44 Special. I'll email you about it. High priced I think but interesting. I'm wondering about that starter, maybe try the email again.
