Steering arm on steering box and the steering wheel. How do these come off? Removed nut on both, but neither one will budge with gear puller. Am I missing something, or are they just froze on this bad? Wd-40 and tapping with hammer ain't helpin either. Any good suggestions?

Stan go get your self a can of P.B. Blaster. I have had much success with it. Its a little steap in price, but its worth it. Just like Dave was saying HEAT can be your best friend. I just replaced a stearing wheel on another one of my tractors. It was so bad I just cut it off and got a new one. Don't give up on the Pony. I could write a book on all of the problems I had with mine.

Hi Stan, The steering wheel slides on to the shaft and has a woodruff key. I'd try a different product than WD40, I have never had any luck with that. You may need to use some heat. The steering wheel shaft and the large worm gear is mfg'd so they don't come apart. You need to take the side steering shaft off first, remove steering wheel, remove all the covers including the tube cover, and the assembly should pop out with the bearings. Watch out for loose bearing balls. If you'd like, I can fax a picture of the assembly. Email at [email protected]
