Man, you heated my a$$ up with that comment about my 444 for sale. What the heck gave you cause to run down a machine you know absolutely nothing about? You must have a grudge to pick. Pick it somewheres else. My business ain't any of yours.

If you've followed the Massey forum for any time at all, you'd have to concede that VR does in fact know a thing or two about the Massey lineup and certainly is entitled to his opinion on any sale, be it yours, mine, or someone elses. The idea of a "forum" is to encourage opinion and discussion. If someone's comments ruffle one's fur a bit, I'd have to say that's within the rules. Same applies to your comments, some of us might consider them somewhat rude and blunt but you have the right to voice them here like anyone else.

Somehow I don't really see where I am taking sides at all. I'm just mentioning what I consider to be "fair game" on a discussion forum. As for my comment being rude or blunt, I've reread it several times and quite can't find what part is rude or blunt. Anyways, it's been a good discussion and that's what it's all about I guess. Good luck with your tractor sale by the way.

I don't see any thing coming of this, other than the fact that it took my mind off of more important things for a while.

The tractor is solid.

The forum? Sure I agree with you on that. It is a great resource for a wide range of hard won knowledge. No doubt about that.

I won't be runover roughshod and not get my hackles up. The comments about this 444 were a taunt and I fell for it. It was a chicken ship thing to run down this 444. I felt that it shouldn't end that way while it had my name on it. The tractor is a good one, and I don't appreciate someone else getting in between me and a buyer. Dam snob thing was all it was.

I'll just keep the 444 and let my boy have it. None of this B.S. has been worth the effort you fellas have caused. Ya'll go back and hunt down someone else that's trying to move ahead.
I got better things to tend after.

And Allen, it ain't for sale no more, not for any price. Good luck on your tractor search. You'll find a good one if you can keep an open mind about it. Don't get scared about making your own mind up either.

Sure- I'll agree with that to a point, however, in velvets earlier post he berated a tractor that he knew nothing about. That does not sit well on my shoulders. If it were your machine and velvet had implied that you had a piece of junk for sale how would you react knowing otherwise.

As for velvets knowledge, well, it seems to me that he has a handle on stuff. I won't discredit him there, but he does not know my machine, nor the circumstances behind it's sale. To jump in and spoil my efforts at an honest sale is not very commendable behavior.

As for "somewhat rude and blunt but you have the right to voice them here like anyone else." I've been no more blunt than velvet chose to be, or for that matter how you have chosen to be sir.

It appears as though you chose to support velvet on this matter solely based upon his knowledge of tractors rather than on the truth of the disagreement at hand. The way I see it, and the way I was brought up, don't run someone else down.
You don't know me, you don't know a dam thing about my tractor or the work that has gone into it. You jumped on the bandwagon. Enjoy your ride sir. You must have practice at it. Your comments to me show talent in choosing sides by loyalty based on details completely unrelated to the argument. Simple as that in my book.

Comeon, this has been the most advertised 444 on
the Internet, for a year or two. The photos have
appeared on nearly every site you can post. There
have been high bids on e bay, can not complete a
sale. Someone must have made a serious offer, in
the time it's been for sale. Perhaps you lost your best offer. The numerous pics reveal your reluctance to keep your overpriced fresh paint.
No live PTO clutch, no disc brakes, other pics
displayed missing sheet metal. Now you use the
distant shots, difficult to know what is, or is
not there. Did you own it three months, before
attempting to sell it? $3500 buys a decent 444,
time passes, no one buys. Conclusion:overpriced.
Since Buyer & Seller can not agree, enjoy your red tractor. It's apparently worth more to you, than anyone else. Bless your Massey-Harris.

I expected your reply to convey your suspicions.
You are wrong. The tractor has been sold twice in the last year. That's my business, not yours.

We reap what we sow. I'll sell this machine, and I know it is a good one. I've used it. You have not used it. Mostly what I've seen you use is your mouth in running down something you know nothing about.

Your opinion is based on assumption. Whats that make you? Suspicious, assumptive, perhaps even a bit put off by my lack of success? IT DON'T MATTER! It is a good machine and will make someone a good purchase. Regardless of your comments, it will sell and $3500 is a fair price for it.

As for the sheet metal... I have all of it, including the battery box lid, tool box lid, side panels, pto sheild, etc. AND YES it has a functioning 3 point lift. So velvet ride, there you have it... mind your own business.
