The only question that is stupid is the one you don't ask - ergo - what is meant by spin out wheels and the term shuttle transmission?

I think 'spin out wheels' is American for PAVT (Power Assisted Variable Track). The wheel rims had essentially a thread inside them, and the cast centres had clamps that lock onto the 'thread'. Thus to change track width you undo the clamps and drive the tractor, presumably jerking the clutch to wind the wheel in or out. there is about 1/4 turn of movement either way.

A shuttle transmission has a seperate lever which allows you to engage forward or reverse in the gear which you are travelling. A powershuttle means you can do this without pressing the clutch as there is a seperate wet clutch for forwards and reverse.

So my MF 65 doesn't have a shuttle transmission right? (two speed transfer case, three speeds forward, one reverse).

Correct! Unless you count your clutch leg as a "shuttle" ;-)
