Just retrieved a Massey-Harris 44e tractor from an old barn in North Alabama Saturday.. it is a Massey Harris 44e to be exact, but I don't know the vintage. Has tricycle front w/4cyl. and hydraulic lift. Looks to be all there etc. The lift cylinder is located rear of operator and looks to have 2 lift arms the reservior is located above the front bolster. Any help and info is greatly appreciated. Regards

e? What leads you to label it an 'e'? If a 44,
1950 would have central hydraulics, chain on the
driveshaft flange, under battery tray, rachet throttle on transmission case. 1951 would have
chain flange replaced with rubber, bolts,PTO
lever engage, seat support tube offset, flipback
pan seat. 1952 would break in S/N to 40K series,
VR on Gen, sealed beam lamps, heavier front pedestal,late-disc throttle on column, Guide
lamp rear(red/white),hyd. diverter. 1953 more
"Special' features.

I really do not know what model or year it is for that matter. I do know that it is at least 35 years or more of age and that it is a model 44 with a LARGE "E" on the side of the cowling to include power or "powered assisted" steering. I guess this particular model is a '46? I'm a Farmall owner '41H. Thanks for responding and the info, it's valuable... Regards
