Hi, I am looking at a Massey Ferguson plow model # 880. Onland hitch, 6 bottom, 18", auto reset. Never owned a MF peice of machinery before. Would like to know how good is this plow. Or should I look for something else? Thank you for any knowledge information you can tell me about this type of plow, you know, the good and the bad about them. Thanks again, Jerry

Excellent plow in it's day, but you might have a hard time finding parts.

Good luck

With the demise of extensive soil tillage, plows
are often the best buy at an auction, sometimes
close to scrap iron price. For design, parts, low
price, White private labeled moldboard plows for Case, Ford, etc. AGCO must provide some product
support, plus after market companies have wear
parts. These were heavy plows, always copied by
competitors. There was a set of 6-20" trip beam,
furrow hitch, in Indiana for $250.00,no coulters,
model 588.

AGCO's product support needs a lot of improvement. Right now I need an exhaust manifold for a MF1080 and a carburator kit for a AC190 with a Holley carb and both are no longer stocked in inventory or even made for that matter. So much for "Product Support".

Making do with what I got

Try Mabie Brothers Inc. in Kirkville, NY for that exhaust manifold. They are a long time Massey dealer with many resourses. They ship world wide and their phone number is 315-687-7891.

Thanks for the reply. I have already been in contact with Brian Mabie and they do not have any in stock. After four months of looking I found a used one in Canada for $580 US plus shipping. Didn't want to spend that much on a used part so I built one out of 1 1/2" and 2" pipe fittings for about $30. Looks good and works excellent. Once the 1080 is up and running the Allis is going to go up for sale. Good tractor just don't need two 85 HP tractors. 1080 was Dads and he left it to me when he passed away.

Take Care
Merle

Merle, I have a 190 gas job that I looked for a carb kit for maybe 10-12 years ago and They didn't have any kits for me either. Made my own gaskets and grabbed parts out of another holley carb to make mine useable. Cheap rotten gas and highprice of it , might not need the carb much longer???
Parts for the 880MF plow are still available but at like twice the cost of IH I found out.
