I hope someone can help me out on this one. When taking my foot off the clutch pedal, it takes about 10 seconds for the primary pressure plate to engage and get the tractor moving when its cold. The problem gets better over the first 15-20 minutes of use, and once it is warmed up it works fine. The secondary plate that engages the pto works fine cold or warm. All of the external linkages are free and oiled/greased where they should be. I have even tried pulling the clutch pedal up by hand. When I do this, it will move all the way up, and the release shaft rotates as it should, but it still takes 10 seconds for the tranmission to engage. Once the transmission is engaged, everything works fine. The clutch never slips. Any thoughts?

Thanks, Pat

It sound like you either have a clutch disc pretty well worn out or you have oil getting on the disc causing it to slip till all the oil is wiped off if you have pedal free travel no pedal free travel will cause that problem also.
