I have a MF 255 diesel with a spin-on fuel filter and I need to change it. It has a Purolator F50086 on it now, but I can't find anyone who has that specific filter or who can cross-ref it to another brand.

Any help?
Thanks.

Thanks Stan, I should have said that I needed the upgraded single spin-on filter, not the secondary filter user in the OEM fuel filter. I believe that the one you identified is the secondary filter for that setup.

I have managed to get the correct Purolator filter number for the tractor (it is F53135 not the F50086 that is currently installed), but have not yet found a local dealer that carries it. That number crosses to a WIX 33196. Hopefully I'll be able to find one or the other locally or on the net soon.

The proof of the puddin' is in the eatin'! Found a local truck parts store that had both of the WIX filters that I was told would work. The WIX 33196 is not correct--it is the filter element for the primary OEM filter setup. I was able to cross the Purolator F50086 to a WIX 33373 and (best of all) they had it. I bought two of them AND found a full-service auto/truck/ag parts store that had been under my nose for over 11 years. Not bad for several hours of research.
