Don't under estimate the pony or pacer for power it's the way it's geared. I have a bolens 1476 large frame and the pony will out work that bolens hands down. i also have a pacer. i have had these tractors for years. We plowed and fitted 6 acres for a vegetable farm since the eaRLY 50'S with no problem. Hope this sheads a little light on the power of these little tractors. John

Dear Kim:

Massey does make or has made rototillers in the 20HP to 30HP PTO range. They are the Model 1001. They take a category 1 hitch and the main frame is 36" to 40" on the 20 HP and 40" to 52" on the 30 HP PTO.

Kim, I'm afraid the little Pony really isn't slow enough to run a tiller. I suppose, if you found a self-powered tiller, you could pull it with the Pony idling along. All in all, I would have to say the Pony would not be my choice for tilling. In my opinion, they are great little lawn mowers! That's what I use mine for, it's got a 5 foot Woods belly mower. Good Luck.....Stan

ya, i'm affraid i'm getting a little disapointed about my wanting that great looking pony across the way. realy too darn bad, it looks so fine, just not enough power. what a rip, if i had the money just for show, it would be the pony, it's the best looking tractor out there, i think, ooohhh well.... guess it's just me and my 17 hp husky with trailor for now. well, i have a few months to think about it????? ????

Hi, can you describe how the woods mower is driven?
Is it off the rear pto? or what?
I have a 51 Pony, with hydraulic.
What model is the woods mower? thanks

The Woods mower is an L59. It is belt powered off the PTO. Mine is also a 1951 model, and has hydraulics, and the adjustable front....Stan
