Massey 30 carb trouble

Have a 1951 MH 30 with Marvel Sebler carb that I can not get dialed in. Very tired of this thing and need advise. The tractor runs pretty good but I'm not sure why. It will only run with the choke almost completely closed. I can turn the mainjet and air mixture jet completely in and the tractor still runs the same. They have very little to no effect on how the motor runs. I opened the throttle up all the way and tried to turn in the mainjet until it sputtered but it never did. Where is the gas coming from if the main is turned all the way in and why isn't the air mixture having an effect when it's turned all the way in. I have the breather tube off but don't think that should matter. Thanks for any help. Carb was cleaned a thousand time and I know there are no obstructions. Has new needle and seat, mainjet, air jet and gaskets. As soon as I open the choke the motor dies.

If your absoutly sure all the internal passages are clean try this, install a lenght of hose on the carb. intake and move it away from engine this will also elimanate the air filter. Crank and let it idle, take a spray like brake clean and spray around the base to throat sealing surfaces and intake gasket mating surfaces checking for a vaccum leak, check closely around the throttle shaft. If you find no vaccum leak then check fuel flow to carb it being gravity fed it doesnt take much to restrict it, also make sure you have a vented gas cap. Starting points on both adjustments screws are around 1 to 1 1/2 turns that should get you going. I'd bet its a stopped up or restricted fuel flow problem you'll find, dont forget to check both filters. post back what you find or if you need further help...

best wishes

TO35, you have a good idea on the vacuum leak. I did notice when I first got it fired up that the exhaust gasket leaked and I bet the intake is leaking(sucking air) too. I'll try the spray trick to see if the rpm picks up. The fuel system has been so thoroughly cleaned that I can't believe a single piece of dirt is in there. Well, not too much anyway. I did try to remove the gas cap because when I put a new gasket in the new sediment bowl no gas would fill the bowl until I cracked the fuel line to allow air to equalize the preassure. Same with the cab bowl. Can leave the drain plug out all day and no fuel enters the carb but if I pull the fuel line it runs like crazy. Once the motor fires the intake suction must pull fuel in. Have tried two different needle and seats (one new rubber tip and the old steel one). Motor runs OK put isn't dialed in for sure. Thanks for the help and I'll keep you posted.
