There are 2 set screws with lock nuts on the side of the top assembly. The top one is leaking diesel fuel. Can I fix it with o-rings and will I loose the prime? Thanks

thanks David. The screws are on the side of the top cover. I know where the throttle assembly and its not those two. Will I loose my prime when I put a new copper washer in? Thanks

No, you shouldnt lose prime. Between the gravity feed, the transfer pump and the fact that you wont have the bleed screw out for very long; you shouldnt lose prime. good luck, david

these are the bleed screws to bleed air from the injection pump. I believe it has a small copper washer under it to seal. the "lock nut" screws into the housing and the screw is what you loosen to bleed the air. I've used a o-ring to fix some of these but the correct way is with a copper washer. goood luck, david

hi! Do you mean that the throttle or the shutoff shaft is leaking? if so, they can be fixed by replacing the o-rings, you can access them after you take the top cover off. Just be careful when you take the top cover off, so that you don't stretch the spring inside. Also, before you take the spring off, note in which holes it was mounted. I recently done this to my 168, it was an easy job&stopped the leak.
