I am also looking for anything I could use with this tractor. Weights, plow, disks, blade, or anything really. I also talked to someone who said he used to own a Pony and said that he ran a 5foot brushhog for years with one. Does that sound right? Anyone ever towed around a 5foot mower? I have only owned smaller Jap. tractor and lawn tractors before. It sure would be nice to run a larger mower though. Can the HP be increased through machining or tweaking? Thanks

We ran a Pony with a Woods 5' belly mower for years. If the land you are mowing is flat or slightly hilly, that setup would be excellent. If the layout of your land requires mowing up some steep inclines, you would have some trouble.

I've got a 1951 Pony, and there is no way she would run a 5 foot hog. (I have a 641 Ford I use with my 5 foot hog) I have a Woods L59 Finish Mower on the Pony. It's a belly mower, run off the Pony's PTO. This is the way to go, it makes a great lawn mower! If someone said they ran a 5 foot hog with a Pony, I'm guessing it (the hog) had it's own motor (self powered) and the Pony was simply towing it, not powering it. Hope this helps..... Stan

I've seen the two way moldboard plow, with coulters, cross hitch strap bar(adjustable),
sitting on a repair shop's back lot a year.
He sells lawn mowers, snow blowers, IH cub repair/attachments. This MH item is more of
an ignored orphan there. The hitch set-up,
appears very complete. Not worth anything, if
you live 1500 miles away. Maybe a hundred dollar
ceiling? Your location? The 5 foot Bush hog is
a stretch for around 13 horsepower.

I live near the Pittsburgh, PA area. I need to get some pictures or something. In every picture I've seen the rear end is hidden. It is frustrating. The gent. who ran the 5 foot brushhog did it in the rolling hills of E. Ohio and it wasn't self powered. Maybe he thought he had a Pony and it was a larger tractor. Wouldn't a belt driven belly mower suck up more HP than a shaft driven mower? Anyhow, where is this plow located? Thanks, Andy

Did you say Massachusetts? That is about 12 hours away from me. Thanks for a response though.

Wade, what do you need a picture of exactly? I can e-mail a scan from my manual if this would help. Send me an e-mail if you want a scan of something. I'd post here, but I'm not sure how to post a picture.
I'm not positive, but I would say it requires more HP just to get the big hog blades turning. The HP on the Pony is between 10 and 11. I believe most hogs require 20+ horsepower....Stan
