I recently purchased a MH Pony at local auction. I know very little about it. The number on side by rear axle is 850095M3(M-H)X. The number on side near trans. is 850046114. The number on side of motor is N6 2A 03 E? The tractor has rear hydraulics and a Vickers power pack up front that runs a Detroit Harvester Highway Mower No. 41 Ser. 1464. This is all I know and the sickle is in pieces, the drawbar is not painted and doesn't look original. Can anyone send pictures or info. to help me put this thing back to work. Nice looking tractor. Thanks!

The N62 on the motor shows that it is the Continental 62 cubic inch motor the Ponys came with. The Allis Chalmers Model G had the same motor.

As Stan said, the serial number for the tractor should be on a plate on the lower right side of the tractor, near the front. If your Pony has headlights, the serial number plate would be almost straight below the right headlight.

There is a serial number plate on the right side just to the rear of the grille. It's on the rail below the engine, can't miss it if it's still there. It may be painted over.....Stan

I found the number you mentioned. The serial number for tractor is 20268. Does that tell you anything? I would love to know the year so I can order the right books and stuff like that.

It's a 1952. You can find this info on left column of this page. Just go down to "serial numbers" and click on it. Then pick Massey Harris, your model.... You can also find pictures and other info on this site. I love my little Pony, and hope you have good luck with yours. They're a great little tractor, like I mentioned before, mine's the best lawn mower I ever had!.....Stan

stan, hope im not repeating myself, but is the pony 27 hp?? man, the pony is one fine looken tractor. i already have a new 17 hp husky. will a pony push dirt around with a blade? the gras in the yard is not even, its all bumpy and makes my husky have a ruff ride? but i sure like that pony a few streets over. the pony seems to be a bit rare on this site of pictures here with 7,000 pics. there are lots of farmall cubs, but the pony, its more rare and way cool. thanks kim

Stan, What type of mower do you run on your tractor? Is it a belly mower? I haven't heard from you and wondered what was up? Talk to you later maybe. Andy

It's a Woods L59, 5 foot 3blade belly mower. I also have a Farmall A with the IH C3 belly mower. After using them both, I would definately recommend the Woods. It just seems to mow better and seems like better construction....Stan

Stan, Thanks for reply. I have a Woods 348 belly mower on my Satoh and you are right. They are bulletproof and well made. Does your tractor struggle going up hill turning that big belt? I am assuming that it is a single-belt design like my 348 but larger. I can power through high grass and then start up a hill and the tractor boggs down so I have to down shift and take it slow till I level out again. Just wondered if you had same problem with yours? I might go with a rear mower that is self powered or shaft driven. I don't know. I can't get past this sickle problem, so we'll see. Andy
