Just rebuilt a Continental Gas in a M-F 2135. I now have an unstopable oil leat at the filter. Have changed the gaskets several times. Any ideas? Thanks

Hey Guys, Thanks for the help. I think I have it. Installed a new oil pump at the rebuild. Put a PSI gage on it and am running 75psi at slow idle and 100 psi at fast idle. Have to pull the oil pan and check the relief valve and spring. I'll let you know what happens.

If you have the cannister type what I always done was stretched the gasket till it fit the base tight never had one leak when I done it this way

If it's got a cartridge type oil filter, maybe the seal under the bolt head is leaking. I got an o-ring that was about the right size and it's still working many oil changes later.

If the leak's at the cannister base, could there be part of an old gasket stuck to the block? They send fresh ones along with Fram C3 and C3P filters, again, if that's what you're using.

That's unusual. Make sure there is no piece of gasket stuck in there somewhere. Is your oil pressure relief valve working? Check the oil filter housing for a radial crack at the edge. It's got me stumped also. Did you do the machine work/assembly? Did a shop put the wrong oil filter mount back on? Let us know.
