Hi,

Picked up a new filter to put on my 1130. The filter is the right size but does not have a spring coiled down the inside tube of the filter body as does the one on the tractor. The instructions that came with the new filter show that it does not come with this coil within and that the bypass valve mechanism should be revised. The replacement filter also states that it is a 5 micron filter and has a label that should be afixed to the filter body as such. Well, is this standard procedure or do I have the wrong filter?
Any and all advise is greatly appreciated.

Kent

I am working on the same thing on an 1130. The manual states early models used a replaceable paper filter and a by-pass valve was built into the filter housing. Later models used a permanent cleanable filter and the by-pass valve is blocked. The filter in mine didn't really look cleanable to me, so I replaced it with a new paper filter. Now I have no hydraulics, so I am thinking maybe it was cleanable, and the paper filter is blocking oil flow with no by-pass valve.
