Was at a sale today. An MF65 gas was there, and it had a quadrant with teeth cast into it bolted to the dash under the throttle lever. The quadrant kept the throttle in position. Is this an MF part? I have a 65 gas that was my grandfather's, bought new in 1959. It does not, nor did it ever appear to have, one of these things bolted to the dash. My throttle does not like to stay in the position I leave it in. Could be something I need to search for . . . .

I have had a '59 MF 65 since new also. came without the quadrant but it was added later when the throttle would not stay in position. it is a MF part, maybe a factory recall revision.

Ray, your 65 didn't happen to come from Flemington Farm Equipment, did it? That's where mine came from. Old Larry sold a few of 'em.

Tim,- no, mine came from Hy-Way tractor in Mt. Holly. Dad bought a 65, 35, and three 135's from 1959 to 1967 for orchard work. I'm in burl. co. Still have all of them as we are still farming.

Tim, As an afterthought to my last post, I just bought a used case backhoe along route 31 in hopewell-pennington area. The dealer sticker is still on it. It says PONIATALSKI BROS. (I think I spelled it right) in Flemington. Is this the dealer you mean? Ray

Ray, Poniatowski Bros. was the local JI Case dealer in Flemington. They dropped Case ag in 1980, and picked up Kubota. Powerco bought them out and moved them to Clinton off I-78 in early '90s, still selling Case construction and Kubota.
Flemington Farm Equipment was owned by Larry Levine. He was a Ferguson and later MF dealer. My family did a lot of business there. A Chinese buffet now occupies the site.
John Deere in Flemington was handled by Hall & Lachenmayer. They closed in the '70s when Deere began to require all dealer buildings be built to the same specs.
John M Saums & Sons was the A-C (and New Idea)dealer in Flemington. They lasted until 1986 when Deutz-Allis came along.
IH in Fleminton was handled by the Van Zandts. They closed a few years before the merger with Case.

Down under 65s had a friction clutch at the end of the throttle rod under dash, matter of just tightening nut on end to make it stay put in a certain position, bit awkward to get to so was quadrant fitted aftermarket as easier alternative. our MF 40 backhoe had one fitted when we bought it second hand. cheers!!!
