Need info on three point lifting slow? The tractor has multi power which works fine. But the three point lifts really slow and acts as if it struggling to pick something up. Any info would help and thanks in advance.

SEAN, hyds and M/P get oil from two different pumps. try removing L/H side cover with pto lever on it, undo and remove linkage pump strainer and clean out and refit. it should be secured with tie wire so just snip wire with side cutters and retie with new wire when finished.try this first, it could be your draft sensing spring at end of lift cover, hyd pump standpipe o,rings etc, i would try strainer, first ,cheers!!!!! !

Do I need to drain fluid first? I will try to remove the cover tomorrow and see if that helps. It is awful aggravating trying to any thing at all with the three point because it take so long to get the thing up. Also, I did notice that once the three point is up with a load and you let the tractor just idle, it will drop. thanks again in advace.

Sean, undo bottom bolt on side plate, if oil comes out, only drain enough out to bottom of bolt, but then you may be better to drain a bit more out after you remove plate to access the strainer. it sounds like you may have a draft control spring or major oil leak or bypass problem in the way your answer reads. cheers.

I am not losing any fluid that I am aware of. What exactly is the draft control spring? Is this something i can adjust or replace? What about the bypass problem, Is this something that I can check tomorrow while I am into the tractor. I am trying to get some ideas so I can spend easter working on this thing. Thanks for all of your help.

Sean, draft spring is located in rear top of lift cover. are you hooked up to an implement with large overhang, it will pull the hyd pump back into neutral while trying to lift by pulling the link back when compressing spring which is fitted to rear of lift cover at top end of beam that top link is attatched to. it has a recessed allen screw which has to be undone before undoing and removing retaining ring and spring assembly. if spring is loose and can be turned by hand on shaft it has to be adjusted till its just firm and cannot turn, then back off one half turn and reinstall. spring may be weak and need replacement.undo top link off 3 ptl and tie chain to top of implement and top of axle housing and see if it lifts better first, if it does that means the draft spring is at fault. before you do this, make sure engine is stopped, remove small rectangle plate off front right hand top of lift cover(held with two bolts), remove plate and check o,rings on end of hyd pump standpipe, if faulty, fit new o,ring and back up washerto pipeand under plate(same size) cheers!!!!!

by leak or bypass i mean inside tractor, could be hyd ram piston rings worn, o,ring between hyd ram and lift cover, sticky or weak pump relief valve, worn or broken piston rings or sealing o,rings on hyd pump etc. no easy way to check, inside, only external things are easier to check first.good luck!!!
