Hydraulic pump coupling bushings on MF Industrial

I discovered the (3) existing rubber bushings that were supposed to be in the adapter plate that connects my Perkins diesel to the hydraulic pump were destroyed/gone (maybe that's why the shaft was wobbling). So, I bought new ones, but am unsure which way the bushsings are installed. Which way do you install them, with the larger metal portion towards the engine, or towards the front end, where you insert them?
Thanks!

Having just bought on o' them bad boy adapter plates, it looks like the big flat side of the bushing backs up to the front of the crank pulley.

Thanks! I wondered if that was the correct way, but wasn't sure, since mine were ruined beyond recognition. I thought maybe with the narrow side out by the head of the bolt, allowing it, with a washer, to "squeeze" the rubber for a tighter fit.
