Hi,

Just picked up a 1130 up that has been idle for a while. I have lots of questions but just a quick one for now.

It seems many if not most of these tractors were built using a perkins engine but I have been told that some were of a german make (the name of which I don't recall) and that cummins were also used. How can I find out which engine I have and are there any significant differences in the engines if MF really did use engines other than perkins?

Thanks for you help.

more questions to follow.

/well, the gas version I think was a Wakashaw. Had a thirst for fuel that had no end. Big Dean would know for sure. Thanks, David

No such thing as an 1130 gas. They were all turbocharged diesels.

Kent,

Just curious as to how much you paid for it? What kind of shape is it in? I have found a 1100 that has been sitting and trying to figure out what its worth.

I too am curious as to what you paid for it. I my travels, I've run across one that from as near as I can see looks very nice, rubber, sheet metal, but I can't get at it, it's locked in a fenced area of construction junk (stuff), and no one seems to know who owns any of it. I'll find the owner of the stuff (1130), but am wondering what to approach him/them with. At least the exhuast stack appears to have a working cover to keep water out (a can would be nicer). Sitting right next to an old Case ???King (can't make it out). Two farm tractors in town, right smack dab in the middle of construction pieces of junk/stuff (they don't fit). That 1130 looks sharp, the Case appears to have potential.

The only engine ever used in an 1130 was the Perkins AT6 354. No other engine was ever used.

I never knew of any tractor in that series to have anything but a Perkins. I believe it had a 351 cu inch turbo charged.

Actually it's a Perkins AT-6 354 CI Turbo, 120 horspower from the factory but can be turned up to approximately 170 horsepower from what I've heard. I have never known Any "Original" 1130 to have any other motor

Very very rare you could get 1100 or 1130 with a gas engine and I belive it was perkins. I only saw one of these.

The 1100 was available with a Wakesha 320 gas engine. I don't think it was offered in the 1130.
