Yike! I just got this machine and am looking for a parking brake that works with the engine running. I need this to operate a post driver using the hydraulics on sloping ground. Is there something other than blocking the wheels and prayer? Thanks. TQ

I added a MICROLOCK brand mechanical shut off for the hydraulic brake line. It has a different quality of seals, but is made the same as the unit for the traditional pickup hydraulic brake system. You can replace the cam system parking brake, but the above system was much easier to install and much cheaper about l985. It has been flawless since then. They also had an electrical powered system then I believe.

Hi there,
If you look on the gear change gate it shows 1, 2, 3, R, ( reverse) and P. 'P' is the Parking lock. The engine can be running when this is engaged. This is excellent but our (UK model ) tractor also had a handbrake lever, which was rubbish, so we used the parking lock all the time!

To Roy in UK: Thanks so much! I will go check it out in the morning. This could really make the difference between being able to do an upcoming job or having to come up with a whole new strategy. I appreciate your taking the time to reply. T. Quisenberry

Your very welcome, good luck with your tractor. Only about 100 MF 1100 tractors came into the UK so they are a rare bird here!
