I have a MF-40 backhoe that has a leak in the power steering by the steering wheel controller. Where can I find a parts break down of this item and also a break down on how to take it apart. The leak is coming out of the top of the unit just where the steering wheel hooks on. Thanks for any info/.

This is a very common fault with the MF 40, 20, 240 etc which have this type of steering valve. The valve is quite simple to dismantle and replace the O ring seals, howevever this is often only a short term solution as the spool wears and it needs replacing or re chromeing and this tends to be an expensive exercise if you have not got access to a machine shop capable of doing it. Often the best is to replace the valve but I am not sure if they are readily available.
On one tractor thatI have the valve was leaking at the bottom and so I made a cup to fit around the bottom of the valve assembly with an outlet which I piped back to the oil pump resevoir via a plastic tube. Crude but it has been working for about ten years now.
