Can anyone tell me why the difflock pedal works so hard. It will lock up but I have to jump on the pedal to get it down and I literally used a crow bar to pry it out. Ive got other MF's and it isnt anywhere near this hard. Its not the kind with the nut to adjust pedal height like im used to seeing. Can you grease it some how? And a brake question, they work fine and I have good pedal but they both make what I would call a dry scraping noise. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks

rz, diff lock mechanism subject to corrosion where shaft passes through diff carrier plate due to condensation and infrequent use.i am surmising you have dry brakes (no knotches in diff carrier plate between diff housing and rear axle housing as viewed from rear of tractor), therefore you cannot spray any wd40 or similar on mechanism(after removing r/h brake lever and housing held by 2 bolts) as it will contaminate brake discs.best way is to remove r/h axle and remove diff carrier plate and clean and lubricate shaft with never seize and refit. if you have wet brakes i would look at rear end oil type, is it the right oil with anti squawk species? if dry brakes are your linings down to rivets? good luck!

Sometimes the diff lock pedal on my MF 275 gets stiff and hard to use.I lube all the pivot points with WD40.And then the pedal usally works alot better. Are your brakes making the noise after braking?Or they making the noise all the time.Could they be adjusted up too much?Just a thought, hope my post helps.
