I am looking at a MH 33 It is a standard model with wheatland fenders and 28 inch rear rims, There were aprox. 11,000 33's made but does anyone know how many standards were produced? Would it be classified as a rare tractor? your opinions please, Morgan

All MH records are subject to dispute. Rare? It
would serve any work needs far better to convert it to a real 33, a row crop. Find one of the half
million 44's made, that is 'down', pull the front
pedestal, rear 38" wheels, axles, axle housings,
and most important, the pair of fenders. Two days sweat labor, you have bolted together a real 33.
Now you have a great tractor, and a pair of ugly
elephant fenders worthy of torch attention. That
fixed front axle is more scrap; salvage wheels,
steering box parts. Perhaps you can sell the 28" rear tires. Next year, you can paint your 33RC. Good luck.

Boy that was rough, But I did ask for any opinions, right? anyway, nobody has answered my question about how the standards, how many approx are they. I have seen a few standards but most are of the row crop veriety, and it also apears that you could make them into what ever you want. I dont believe that I will cut up my wheatland fenders right away though, (you were joking velvet ride werent you?) Thanks again

Have to comment on what was rough:two tasks. 1) 3
brothers took Pappa's tractor apart, put it in bushel baskets, and somehow got the entire tractor to the second floor of a house(bachelor
brother, of course). Try putting a purchase price
on this, two decades later. Rough#2)Undercarriage
teardown on a CAT D4, run on a dairy farm through manure for a few decades. Every bolt is
thinned, frozen tight. After these, MH's in the
shed, or under a tree, are fun to convert from a
stodgy standard, to a classic row crop. Sorry on
the approx. 15,000USA 33's, but records were not
accurately kept, during or after the legend ended
in late 1957 for MH classics.

I gotta remember if I ever get my MH down in your vicinity to keep it clear of that welding torch of yours MY. You'd do some serious damage to those of us with those big ugly fenders and the fixed front axles (mind you I did my part to trim my fenders down a bit). Have a good one !!!

As discussed long ago, you did right by cutting back that SURPLUS sheet metal on those typical bent, oversized fenders. Difficult to deposit that R & D design check, from MH, since MF execs took all the MH combine profits home,at MF
bankruptcy.
Do you believe those are 101 cast centers, with no MH(posting will not print the horizonal
arrows) casting, doubtful. When are you getting
your prize project, 444 Hi-Arch? No rush...
