Can anyone send me a drawing of hooking up a three terminal alternator. The simpler the better. Thanks

Connect one of the large terminals straight to the battery at the starter solenoid.

Connect the small terminal through a light bulb to the ignition position of the key switch. NB assuming it's a diesel you can't use the original switch, you need one with off, on, heat and start positions. The original switch doesn't have an 'on' position. Earth is provided through the mounting bracket. If everything is correct the lamp will light when the ignition is turned on and go out when the alternator is charging.
