MH-22 Paint oil seal

A couple of questions if anyone could help- I am trying to replace the oil seal at the front of the transmission, my manual says after removing the four bolts holding the housing on it should slide out, but it doesn't seem to want to and I don't want to pry-does anyone know if I'm missing something? Also does any manufacturer have a MH red paint that is available in aerosal as well as bulk-would make touch ups easier later on, lastly I assume the generator and starter were red originally- is this correct? Many thanks in advance!

Gaskets sometimes get bonded to cast iron when in contact with heavier oils. Try using a rubber mallet to knock it loose starting with gentle raps and work your way to more force. at some point it should pop loose.
