I have purchased a TO-20 with a rear main leak. Is there any books or manuals that show step by step how to change seal out better than the original manual?

You'll get more responses if you post on the Harry Ferguson board. All the TO and TE series tractors are Harry Ferguson brand, Massy Harris bought out Harry Ferguson in the mid fifties. Then the brand name was Massy Harris-Ferguson, and was later shortened to Massy Ferguson. Unless the rear main seal is leaking badly and contaminating the clutch I'd wait until then. Splitting the tractor is not difficult, just time consuming, so I'd replace everything while it's apart. The best shop repair manual is from a MF dealership. It's more expensive($35) but you really do get what you pay for. The most likely guy here to know the easist and quickest way to replace the seal is Big Dean, his website might even have his procedure on it.

Are you talking about the Shop service manual for the te-20 to-20 and to-30?

It is a good manual for around $13.00 if you do not have it already. The I&T manual is not as good.
