Not all 65's had the hyd filter screen. Early
production did not. You can update by adding p/n
l89505M9l but it's probably not worth your time.
Most of the dirt accumulates on the bottom. When
you are ready to change fluid, run tractor in gear
to stir up fluid and drain when all is warm. Do
not use a gear oil!! Use MF ll03 no.80 green min-
eral or the fluid for the later model tractors which is a lighter fluid but recommended. To check
screen you must access L hand round side cover on the diff. Hsg with pto shift lever on it.

Just got a MF65 myself last weekend. I do not have an answer for you but I can tell you that the Owners manual is $12.95 from a MF dealer and the parts manual is $39.95. A good deal cheaper that on the web.

Your hyd. filter is a washable screen type and is removed by taking off the PTO shift lever plate for access.(left side of transmission) Any reputable brand of trans-hydraulic oil works in the system.
