was just wondering if anyone could tell me what, if any differences there are with the deluxe model?
also my tractor, which i just picked up this weekend seems to have a different front MF medallion, and the center service door for the fuel cap and the rad cap has 2 levers to fasten it, and i can only see in the parts book doors that either don't have fasteners or they have only one in the center.
the only MF medallion that i can see in the parts book other than the ferguson name plate, is a MF medallion with wings that go out to the side, my MF does not have the wings.
also my 35 is a 3 cyl. perkins

any info would be appreciated
thanks

Your MF35 is a british made MF. The FE35 was produced in Coventry, England and has the new rounded shape, while the US model continued using the old tinwork from the grey ancestor.
If you take a look on the left side of the transmission housing, you will find something like SNM(YW) 180596, meaning S: standard agricultural tractor,N: 3-152 Perkins diesel, M: dual clutch, and optionally the two last letters Y: differential lock and W: multi-power. the serial number should be the same as on the plate and the production year would be 1960, as this year's production range was from 171471 to 220613. Parts are readily available.

FOLLOW-UP:
the sn plate shows the tractor as an FE35 sn#180596, also found that the grille appears to be rounded edge & corners, while th parts book only shows squared off corners?

I just bought an MF35X too. I assume mine was American made. Can you help confirm that by looking at the link below and by knowing the serial number (SNMY359374)?

Just wanting to know all I can about my newest toy.

Thanks,

Tony

According to pictures and serial number, your new toy is a standard ag tractor (S), perkins A3-152 engine (N), dual clutch (M) and differential lock (Y). Produced in Coventry, England in 1964 (last production year including s/n's 352255-388382).
It should not be smoking from the head gasket (smoking is dangerous to the health), but the weeping from the hole under the tranny is hard to avoid completely. Check whether the leaking oil is engine oil (black, sooty) or tranny oil. Then check Big Dean's homepage for what action to take, if any.
