My MF 245 hydrolic lift will not go any lower than the transport position when the position lever is all the way down with the draft lever all the way up. I have to push the draft lever all the way down for my implements to get low enough to work. I have tried using the longest top arm I could buy to lower it using the height lever only but it puts the box grader, blade, brush hog at an angle they should not be in. I don't mind using the draft lever to bring the implements to the correct height but when I lower the draft lever it is all the way down no adjustment possible. I have welded chains to the brush hog to keep it at the correct height but grading my gravel road is next to impossible.

I suspect Big Dean is right. He's the pro. You might get it to fall down if you lift the arms all the way up manually and rattle things around. (There's a spring in there that's prpbably broke). therwise it's a "lid off" Just did one on a 135 with the same problem

There is a piece of linkage inside that will jump out of place if you happen to hit something a little to hard with the implement & especially so in reverse or if the lift bounce up from hitting a bump. With that piece of linkage in the wrong place the position lever will not work. It not real uncommon on the MF100 & MF200 series tractor. Email me if I can be of further help.

I only use draft control with a turning plow or harrow. For bush hogging or blading I have the draft all the way down and control my height with the position control lever. Is this a new problem or or you unfamiliar with the tractor?

Tractor was my fathers (new in 1978) and has been "mine" since 1990. I only work 30 acres and 1/2 mile of gravel road about 20 acres of brush hoggin and the rest is in woods so do quite a bit of loggin in the spring hauling out dead wood, knockin down snags etc..

When I put the draft lever all the way down the position control lever will not work. I have the original owners manual and it says when operating an instrument which stays "above ground" to leave the draft control lever all the way up and move the implement with the position control lever. I appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for replying Louie. I was raised on an F 40 and now my new love is an FE35. They both operate as I stated earlier. Sorry I can't help with your problem. Have you contacted Big Dean or do you know of him? He is a good knowledgable man and most helpful. Cosmo

Do you have the response control on slow? I have seen this cause problems similar to this if the linkage is slightly out of adjustment inside. Try moving it to fast, but do it over soft ground as it can drop the implement very quickly.

I have tried it both ways and cannot get it lower than the transport position without using the draft lever. When I use the draft lever it is "All" the way down which it too low for brush hoggin or gratin.
