My block seeps just a little antifreeze. Doesn't leak into anything else. Can this be welded fairly easily or is there something I can put in it to stop the leak? Thanks

Gary, Bars Leak should work fine. Just be sure you are going to work it hard enough to bring it up to operation temp.

they sell some stuff that's supposed to stop small leaks in cooling system. i think it's some sort of powder which will build up in time to the leaking spot and eventually clog the hole.

My 35 Perkins leaks a little also. My neighbor believes that JB Weld will take care of it. What do you think? Actually, my neighbor is an excellent mechanic, he rebuilt my Perkins, just looking for other opinions/gothcha's with JB Weld.

JB should work, make sure the block is drained and the crack area really dry before starting. Also, if you could somehow groove out the crack a bit with a side grinder then blast the whole area with a sand blaster, you'll get better adhesion. Last, I have had good results using JB with random-mat style fibrelass mat. Work it into the glass patch real good then use it like a bandaid and then work more JB into and around the area before smoothing things out. Seems to give the repair a bit more strength I think.

Alberta Mike, great tip. My neighbor also said to grind it with my Dremel tool. He didn't mention the sand blaster though. That's why I love this site. Thanks, C. T.
