Dear friends,

My brother in law (countryman in the Bordeaux region in France)has a old Maasey -Fergusson tractor enterely refurbished by his father, for which I want to know the reference and the technical features.

In the engine (a 4 cylinder with 6 volt power) is written :
MC 1968
K
on the frame :
TEC 147713
10-11s

Thanks a lot in advance for the informations

Laurent

Hi Laurent

First impression is that he has a 1950 Ferguson TEC 20.
If this is correct it will be fitted with a Standard engine made in Coventry England.
The tractor would have been made in england ie; T = Tractor and E = England (built) the C = Narrow width Chassis
The French Ferguson was assembled in France from 1953 to 1958 at St. Denis Near Paris, so if your s/n is correct you can see it was imported from England.
The engine being 6 volts would be correct for this tractor as 12 volts was not introduced untill s/n 200001 in 1951
To check that it is a "C" narrow tractor check the following, taken from my manual,
"The narrow Width Tractor is desighned for use in orchards, plantations and closly planted areas where the employment of the normal width model is not practible.
It is in all essentials the standard Ferguson Tractor and its efficency and performance are unimpaired. The overall width, however is 4'6" instead of 5'4" and the minimum track widths are: front 42", rear 44"

I have a couple of articals on this tractor with photo's, if you would like them I will scan them for you.

hope this is of help
