Massey has lost an important pioneer of tractor collecting and showing. Orland Reichert of Hensall Ontario, well known throughout Ontario, Michigan and Ohio passed away this week. Orland has shown his collection at International Plowing matches, and numerous shows in Ontario, Michigan and Ohio. His collection consisted of over 45 tractors, some extremely rare Masseys. His jewell was the 4x4 1937 Massey Harris that came from Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto. This tractor cleaned the ice at the national hockey league building from 1937-1960. Orland had found an 81 model last fall and was working on it in his shop this winter. He will be remembered as a friendly and helpfull neighbour and friend to all who ever phoned him with a Massey question or a need of a particular part. His son Ken will continue the collection as it was the passion of both of them The hobby will continue but a knowledgeable and well respected collector won't be there to answer the phone. Touring Orland's farm was a day's outing. There were tractors upstairs in the barn, downstairs in the barn, under lean-to's, in the machinery shed and lining 3 walls of his spacious shop, where ever you looked there was a Massey, or a Massey Dealer's sign. Orland will be missed, I'll miss him he was my neighbour, my friend, and senior mentor, I learned a lot from him..... ....Mike in Exeter Ontario

Man talk about coinencedences. Last night I was reading "The Big Massy Fergusen Tractor Book" and was puzzled when it said a tractor "soldiered" for the Maple Leafs for manny years. I had no idea what the author ment.

Now I know. Un fortuantly it took a post of such bad news to answer a minor question.

Surely will keep him and his family in prayer.

Jeff

When a member passes on that has that much knowledge and passes that on to others, we all lose a little. May he rest in peace
