Does any one know what size the nut that holds on the steering wheel for a 73 MF-135 is. Also I kind of scared up a few threads using a puller to get the old steering wheel off. I was thinking of useing a thread cutter to restrighten them. Any one do this or have any other ideas please feel free to pass them on. What org. went over the nut on these tractors when they were new. It did not have a nut on the tractor when I bought it.

You don't want to use a thread cutter to merely straighten the threads. The cutter will remove metal while the straightener will reshape the present metal without removing it. There are different threads used, but I think most are 3/4" fine thread. Take the nut with you to a hardware store when you buy the straightener to assure buying the proper one. If the first thread is messed up and you cannot start the straightener, carefull, light filing with a 3 corner file following the normal thread outline will allow starting the straightener. Remember- once thread metal is removed you can't put it back!
