What's an MF 50 EX?

Hello, MF People,

So, I have been wanting a tractor to drag my horse arena, and we came home from dinner tonight and there in the driveway was a BIG YELLOW MASSIVE FERGUSON!

My husband's buddy rescued this from an abusive home (ran it out of diesel then said it was a bad machine, now it runs great.) All I know is it is yellow, big (to me) and someone said it was a 1994 model. It has a back scraper box, and a loader that says MF Powershuttle 50 EX with a clamshell-type bucket. There is a canopy and ROPS, and the ag tires are about 4' tall in back. It has a lot of levers and stuff...

Excuse my ignorance, but... I was kind of looking at 20HP Kubota's and well, this one kind of scares me, it looks like it might eat the garage. Maybe in the light of day I can find the ID plate or some other markings on the tractor, but in the meantime... anyone have any idea what my husband gave me for Christmas? (Yes, it had a big bow on it, my husband is the greatest.)

Suzi in Chino, CA

PS- here is the ID info per the plate:
MF Industrial model 50EX (export?) there is a small tag pasted near this that says C354. The serial number is 5157 S 2438 Thanks!

Thanks! Seems like I have a rare bird, eh? I know NOTHING about tractors. How can I tell if it has mechanical front wheel drive? Do you know what model might be comparable in US manuals? I did see on the ID tag (by daylight instead of flashlight!) that it was made in England. I thought it had a funny accent...

Again, any hints at all about this beast would be deeply appreciated!

Big Dean replied to a personal email and said the 50EX was only made in 1988 and he didn't have any specs, but suggested I contact Mabie Bros. which I will do. I also sent an inquiry to MF in the UK, since it was made there. What is this wonderful machine in my driveway?

Happy Holidays to all, thanks for reading my cry for help.

Suzi V

The tractor was sold here originally. You might need to find a MF dealer who also sold Massey Industrial though.

MF no longer support this type of kit, it was built by MF Manchester which was sold in a management buyout as Fermec, sold on to Case IH and subsequently sold to Terex and supprise supprise the factory's been closed down. I won't say any more before I say anything too insulting about dumb american corporate practices....
