It shows them in the parts book but has anyone ever seen a hand clutch for a 44? I would be interested in finding one. I'm not talking about the live pto clutch.

The 44 vineyard tractors had a hand clutch since the narrow platform space on the tractor was needed for brakes. The parts listing was probably for those tractors.

Could it be a disability that would keep foot from working the pedal?

hey fred , now you just metion about hand clutch for mh 55, the guy says my mh 55 needed some work on hand clutch or something , i would like to have those... and hey steve, the guy might be too short to reach the clutch and brake pedals at once... its something to do with that cant press all at once with both of your legs i assume, my mh 55 comes with it i dont know why but its going to be interesting!

The 55 with a hand clutch was called a 55 Western. I do not know if they made a 44 Western.

A long time ago I worked for a farmer who had 4 tractors. 2 with hand clutch and 2 without. I never had a problem with either type of clutch. I would think if you had a loader tractor with hand clutch things could get akward at times.

Just be careful and have safe Holidays and a prosperous 2004.
