Hi Tim
All FE 35s were built in England for the home market and fitted with the Standard engine from 1956 upto 1959 from when the Frank Perkins Engine Company was acquired, over this period of change the last Standard engine was fitted into serial no.166595 and the first Perkins 3-152 was fitted into s/n 166596.

The only place the FE 35 was exported to was Canada, the engine had modifications done to it to help it start better in cold climates, one was fitting glow plugs to each cylinder and another was a heater into the water jacket.

As I have a 1957 FE 35 of my own,I have gained infomation on them from lots of diffrent sources and if I can help another owner please feel free to contact me by email me

Hey Bob whats this nonsense about Canada being the only place FE 35s were exported to was Canada! I have six upside down(!) ones here in Australia including the 23C, 3A/152, and Standard petrol motors. All I will say is that there were more advanced tractors around ( eg Oliver 55 Fiat 4IIR) in the mid 50s but none with the system of matched implements and service backup. Australia and New Zealand must also have a lot of the remaining TEA/D/H/J/K/F series too. Cheers

Hi Rick

Just goes to show that when ever I open my mouth I put my foot in it!!!!! !!!

I had it on good authority that Canada was the only country it was exported to, so I am glad you have corrected me on that. Can you give me the data on those that you have for my records?

I am intrested in this tractor and would like any info on its history around the world and diffrent versions of it, so if there is anyone out there who can expand my knowledge please feel free to contact me by email.

The French built a version of this tractor and called it a MF 835, I have the webb address of a very good site in France if anyone wants a look.

Have a good Christmas all of you out there and a happy new year

1962 Perkins diesel. Perkins has 3 cylinders with exhaust on left, Standard has 4 cylinders with exhaust on right. The linked site has more details.
