Folks: Which tractor used the Continental Z145 engine? Is that engine similar to a Z134, or could a 134 be turned into a 145 by using the crank, rods, pistons, and sleeves of a 145? Thanks and Merry Christmas!

I do not know anything about tractors but MF 150 has a Z-145 Continential engin. I am looking for a rebuilt Z 145 motor. Any idea where I can find one. Rebuilt

The MF 65 used the Z-145. The rebuild kits that are sold for the Z-135 actually give it the same displacement as the Z-145. It does not require a different crank. The kit contains new sleeves and pistons.

The Z-145 was used in the M.F. 135. The 65 used the G-176 engine.

Thanks Paul. So the stoke is the same. Is there a noticeable power increase? Do the new pistons raise the compresson ratio? I know the originals were 6.6/1 with dished pistons.

In my tractor, it definitely increased the power. I don't know whether or not the compression ratio was increased.

I misstated which engine was used in the MF 65. Yes, it definitely used the G-176 Continental engine in the gas model.
