Okay, so I don't know much about how dependable they are. I just bought a 44 Special on factory LP Gas. It seems to be a real good tractor. The man I bought it from was using it to pull a 16 hole grain drill, mow and rake hay. Another man found out I had bought the 44 Special and sold me a 44 Gas, wide front. Which brings me to why I am here.
Looking for the 3 pt. arms for the 44. I have the hyd cyld. Need the arms and anything else you may have.

Roger: I don't know anything about the tractor you bought- heck I don't know anything about the 30-b industrial with loader I bought last year. What i do know is that the one I bought- cut, raked and baled of 80 acres of hay last year for me on my new farm and still moves enough dirt to make one heck of a big pile. Yep it has a blown pressure plate but even here in michigan it starts every day and that diesel sounds so nice. Take care of the maintenance and you will be a happy camper- just an opinion from someone who is still learning

Roger: Here we go again like Will's post down below. 44's are bulletproof, given decent maintenance and operation. Arguably one of the best tractors ever built, in spite of the screams of protest from the boys of Big Green. Good Luck. Tom

I have to agree with Tom, 44's are bulletproof, but expensive for engine parts. Everyone should have 1 or 2 good model 30's around if they want real dependability.

Both of these engines seem to be real good. Why are engine parts high ? I have a local parts store that has always gotten me parts for MM tractors at reasonable prices. They are usually 1/2 price of Agco. Seems they should be able to do the same for Massey. I have used the 44 Special to run the 10 x 32 unload auger and it seems to have enough power for that. As for the question why is the Two Banger so popular ??? I would like to know that myself. I have run 2 cyld. tractors in the field for my neighbors. This 44 beats the heck out of any JD I ever ran.
