With about 8 gallons of chocolatey brown old transmission juice to fuel my future slash piles, I cleaned the filters and re-filled the gearbox of my MF-2135 with 8 gallons of new Tractor Hydraulic Fulid.

Two questions:

1) - I slightly overfilled the gearbox. Is that any problem?

2) - The filter screen had a bunch of chips of tan colored neoprene rubber in it. Maybe the edges of a gasket that's getting old? There are no oil leaks visable and it doesn't "use" any fluid. Are the bits of what I guess are pieces of a seal, any sign of a future problem?

While I was at it, I replaced all my grease fittings with new ones and greased all the joints. Last time I tried to grease the tractor I noticed a few were blocked. That air powered grease gun is sure nice. I got it on sale at Harbor Freight for about $12.
