Dear Friends, I purchased a TO35 last summer. Now that the weather is cold, I can get the tractor to crank. Would the solution be a block heater?

your tractor is no differnt then your car. if your car was 60 years old would it start? the main reason they will not start is neglect!when did you change oil last? did you use a lighter wt. for the cold what shape is your battery in? do you have the right size battery cables on it?if its 6v no less then 0 and you can't get them at wal-mart. when is the last time you gave it a tune up [plugs, pionts, new cap and rotor, plug wires]when this tractor was new they did not have block heaters but the tractor would start. a block heater will help it start in the cold but it should fire right up if it is taken care of with out. we had -5 this morn and my little to-20 started right up one more thing push the clutch in when starting this helps by not turning any thing in the trans.
