Has anyone purchased an aftermarket grill for a 165 Massey Ferguson? I am wondeering how they fit and if they look original. They sure built the grill and surrounding framework out of light material on these tractors.

Thanks for your help. I have all winter to look for a grill and if I can't find the original pieces I need, I will snoop around ebay and try to pick up one. I saw the one listed that sold for $51, and it sure would perk up the looks of the tractor.

I purchased an aftermarket grills (inner & outer)from e-bay last year, got both with shipping for around $60. Change out the old grills when I was replacing my water pump, had to widen some of the holes to line up the screws and had to drill two new holes in the bottom pan so that the center grill (bottom pins) would slide through to keep in place. Other than that the new grills sure make the tractor look new.

Charlie, can you explain about the inner and outer grill? Is the inner part the framework? My framework and grill are in pieces. I could probably put it all back together but I am missing one side grill. I bought the tractor with the grill in pieces. Doug mentioned buying the complete grill assembly. Can either of you tell me where I can find the complete assembly? Thanks.

I went to e-bay and looked for the grill. There is one for bid with the outer and center door for approx. 51.00 plus shipping. It only had about 15 min left on the auction, but they are alway on there just keep looking. It shows a good picture of the outer and access door (grill assembly). This is the same one I bid on and same company I purchased mine from. Hope this helps.

If you go to e-bay and type in Massey Ferguson 165, You should be able to see pics of the outer and center (inner) pieces of the grill assembly.

It should be a grill assemble on there for sale now. That is where I purchased mine.

You will notice that the grill comes in two (2) pieces the outer shell which raps around the sides and the center piece (inner) which allows you access to the power steering pump. I may have used the wrong words (inner & outer) for describing the grill, sorry for the confusion.

As Doug suggest, I would recommend you purchase the hole grill assembly so that the two pieces match up for a better fit. I believe the reproduction grills opening is a little smaller than the orginal grill on the tractor.

Also when I won the bid for the grills when I contacted the sales person I requested what other items for a MF 165 they had. I ended up getting new decals and the 165 plates for the hood also. They were very good to deal with, should be the same company.
