On the massey ferg 35's, 65's and so on with the 8 speed ( i think) transmissions, what is the "S" range on the high-low stick? I know that the L is for low range and the H is for high range, but what is the S?....I figure its a park gear or sub low but not sure. Massey isn't my usual brand so i'm left with a puzzeled look when i see that extra range on the second stick. Thanks for the help.

Most of the 35's, 65's, etc. (at least the ones made here in the USA or Canada) did not come with an 8 speed transmission, but instead had a 6 speed transmission with a 2 speed shift on the go feature that Massey called "multipower". This essentially gave them 12 forward speeds.

The S is for start. The range lever has to be in neutral for the starter to engage if the saftey switch is working properly.
