Do all Massey 22's turn very slow on the starter? I have replaced everything on the starting system. I have new 0 guage battery cables too.

Your starter is probably getting weak. You can purchase an 8 volt battery from farm supply stores and it will not hurt your electrical system and will probably turn it over faster. We have done this many times with massey 30 and 101's and it solved our problem.

Let me tell you a little trick. Take a 12v battery with a dead cell. it should produce 9v and by the time it gets to the starter it will be down to 6v. I do all the time.

How old is your battery? Regardless of what the battery tester say, when a 6 volt battery gives up the ghost, it's gone. How good are the connections at the starter and at the ground? I'm assuming the battery posts have been cleaned off really well too. I have known some guys to ground the battery directly to one of the mounting bolts on the starter (if the distance will allow it). In any event, don't expect it to turn over like a 12V system, six volts are not known to spin anything too fast but it shouldn't have any trouble with that little Massey engine.
