a 372 perkins was actually never used in anything but a 750 mf, though it would bolt up to anything that has a 354 perkins in it, the only thing you would have to watch out for is the exhaust manifold bolt pattern and the size of the front mount bolts, even though both are easily drilled and tapped, also is your motor an earlier red motor or late black dot4 motor as the two are not interchangable.

another quick question. would the flywheel from a 354 engine work on the 372?

yes your flywheel should interchange.

your not going to get alot more power out of your 372 by just opening up the pump, the most you might gain is more rpm, which is neccessary if you would like to install the motor in any type of highway application, since if you don't you may find youself stuck doing 55, lol

if you want a bit more power, just stick on a turbo kit off of any 354-760 combine, the only thing you may have to do is drill and tap some new bolt holes, since sometimes depending on serial#'s the patterns differ.
other than that the only difference internally to be concerned about is that non-turbo engines have smaller wrist pins, but i wouldn't worry about that since i have never heard of a wrist pin bushing failure, either turboed or not turboed, and people have been adding turbos onto 354 naturals for 30 years on mf 1100's

if you have no immediate use for the motor i would look at installing it into a older 1/2 or 3/4 ton truck, i know of a few people that have done this, and they wouldn't sell them, and excellant fuel economy
