Anyone here ever hooked up a tach that gets it feed from an alternator? I found a company that is selling some discontinued Datcon 3,000 rpm alternator tachs for a very good price. The company selling the tach says I need to know the number of poles in the alternator and pulley ratios. Anyone know number of poles in a 10si 63 amp? And they say hookup consists only of wiring the thing in. Maybe some of you diesel owners out there with alternators have hooked up a tach and can share some experience with me.

Thanks
