Looks like I need to replace a broken crankshaft pulley on my MF 202. Can anybody help me with the procedure, and/or who might carry a replacement pulley(it's a three bolt). I'm ordering a service manual, but in the meantime I'd greatly appreciate any help.

thanks

George H

George, I have the same MF202 as you. I will soon have to change my fan/alt belt and yes I will have to block the loader, remove front hyd. pump (I think),unbolt front radiator/remove front axle pivot, and then I can slip the belt on just as you can then change the pulley. I was even thinkin about looping a second belt around and tying it out of the way just for a spare, in case I break the new in the first few years.

it will be a job you have to take most of the front off the tractor. it will take some time

Thanks for the replies. Yep, it does look like a major effort. The loader frame is in the way of removing the axle. Possibly I can detach the loader frame from the tractor, front and rear, supporting it with stands, roll the tractor back enough to detach the axle assembly, then roll if forward far enough to remove the pulley...jeez...that's why I was hoping somebody had done it...Regards...GeorgeH

Marlowe

Thanks for the post. The problem I have is how to get to the large bolt. This being the loader model, it has the loader frame as well as the steering cross member in front of the crankshaft pulley; I was hoping to get some help with getting through those two...sequence of removal, etc.

thanks again

i would say get a breaker bar, and the right size socket and try from the underside as that should be where you will have the most room i thnk.
