Can you put the 318 engine from a 1080 into the 180? The 180 has the 236 gas engine. Anyone know? Otherwise need to find some parts to fix the gas 180.

Technically, I suppose it's possible, but I'd be looking for a 200 series donor ( I think the 275 & 285 both used the 318 ). These are built on a similar sized chassis to the 180. The 1080 uses a large frame (1100, 1135 etc), with a little motor.

Anyway, I'd say your best bet would be to hunt the boneyards for a 180 diesel, and go with the 236 that will (mostly) bolt right in.

Just my thoughts,

The M.F.275 used the Perkins 248 engine. Just a punched out 236.
