I am slowly gtting into the haying business....I've been cutting, raking, and having it custom baled. I only put up 2500 bales this year. I got a chance to buy a 135 MF in like new condition. I eventually would sell my Ford 2N that I use to rake with and replace it with the Massey, and then get some bigger iron for pulling a baler. In the meantime, could I hook a baler to the 135?

Take Care
Steve

Yes, been there done that, with a 135 diesel coupled to either a Claas Maximum or an AC 300 baler . Those little 135's are quart in a pint pot! The only problem I found was it was a non-multi power tractor, so not that many gears to play with. By the way a 135 with a baler on the back makes a lovely sound..."doom - doom - doom - doom"

We pulled a JD14T baler behind a TO35 for many years.

Dad used to do custom baling for the neighbors. He charged them $.25 a bale for the baling, and paid my Brother and I $.01 per bale for doing all the labor. (While he worked in town) He said if we didn't like it, we could do it for nothing.

But to get back to your question - We didn't have any problems with the setup except in muddy ground or on hills once the wagon was half loaded. No way would it pull a mostly loaded wagon under those circumstances.

Hi, I have a MF135D which I pull a JD337 with kicker and a hay wagon with no real problems. My terrian is fairly level. Bill

If you are planning on pulling a small square baler, the 135 will do a great job. I don't recall if all 135's had the dual clutch, but you will want to check as it comes in handy when baling to allow the tractor to stop and the pto keep going to clear the baler. As to your other tractor, keep it! It will be handy for raking or pulling a wagon while you are baling.

Good luck,
Bill

Steve,
Many 135's have pulled balers around here. KNOW your limitations and take your time. May have to drop bales versus pulling a loaded wagon in other than level ground.

Yep
Did it for several years with a ford baler behind the little 135 that I had. The little guy would shake, rattle and roll but had no problems
