Just got my 202 home, power steering not working, about 1/4" fluid in reservoit...it's pink, look and feel of Pepto-Bismol...any ideas?Thinking might be water in whatever they used for fluid. Looks to me that Permantran III, or other fluid meeting MS 1129A spec is the one to use...confirmation, anyone?

Thanks

If the hydraulic oil is pink, the pump is cavitating, and the oil is foaming. You need to add oil to the proper level. That should take care of the problem.

MikeOh,

Thanks for the post...there was only about a half inch of oil in the reservoir...I just bought the tractor. Filled it today, and the power steering works very well...what a joy after wrestling the wheel on and off the trailer.
Not the mention the fear that something else was wrong....
